1. Is the $2000 prize paid to the college?

The prize is paid by check directly to the student after your affidavit of eligibility is received. We will issue an IRS form 1099 at the end of the year.

2. Do I need to send transcripts or letters?

No, the essay alone determines the winners. Essays will be judged on the basis of originality, conciseness, grammar and spelling.

3. What is the purpose of the Interview?

We must verify basic information on each finalist before final judging. The sole purpose of obtaining and verifying background information. This information will be shared with no individual or company and will not be placed or transmitted online.

4. How long will the interview take?

Approximately fifteen minutes

5. What if I cannot be at the interview?

Once contacted to schedule the interview, applicants must make every effort to attend. Let us know in advance and we will try to reschedule an additional interview. Please note that each finalist must be interviewed to qualify for a scholarship

6. Are there any restrictions on the use of the prize money?

There are no formal restrictions. Use it for any college-related expense.

7. Must I be a U.S. citizen to be eligible?

You must be a legal US resident with a valid social security number and government-issued picture I.D.

9. When I apply for your scholarship and write my scholarship essay, how should I "send In" my materials?

Please note -- no email applications or essays will be accepted. Your application form and essay should be mailed via regular postal mail (no certified mail) to the appropriate address according to the rules page. As long as your materials are postmarked by or on the scholarship entry deadline, your entry will be accepted.
